This Order establishes on 1st January 2000 the Worcestershire Community and Mental Health National Health Service Trust (“the new trust”), an NHS trust provided for in section 5 of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990. It provides for the functions of the new trust (article 3) and specifies the number of executive and non-executive directors of the new trust (article 4). It also specifies the operational date (the date on which the new trust assumes all its functions), the accounting date of the new trust (article 5), and the limited functions that the new trust may carry out between its establishment and operational dates (article 6), and makes provision for assistance to be given by Worcestershire Health Authority between those dates (article 7).

This Order should be read in conjunction with the Alexandra Health Care, the Kidderminster Health Care, the Worcestershire Community Healthcare and the Worcester Royal Infirmary National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 19994.
