The Civil Courts (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 1999

Coming into force in accordance with article 1
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Civil Courts (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 1999 and shall come into force:
a
as to articles 3 and 4(3), on 31st January 2000; and
b
as to the remainder of this Order, on 20th December 1999.

In this Order, a Schedule referred to by number alone means the Schedule so numbered in the Civil Courts Order 19834.
Amendments to the Civil Courts Order 1983

In Schedules 1 and 3 the entry relating to Bridgwater shall be deleted5.

In Schedule 1:
a
in the entry relating to Romford, “Grays Thurrock” shall be deleted from the second column;
b
the entry relating to Great Yarmouth shall be deleted.

In Schedule 3:
a
the entries relating to Grays Thurrock and Great Yarmouth shall be deleted;
b
in column 4 of the entry relating to Lowestoft, for “Great Yarmouth” there shall be substituted “Norwich”.
Transitional provisions in relation to Admiralty proceedings4

Article 5 of the Civil Courts (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 19996 shall continue to have effect, subject to the following paragraphs of this article.

Bristol County Court shall have jurisdiction in respect of Admiralty proceedings which were commenced in or transferred to Bridgwater County Court before 26th April 1999, and are in existence in Bridgwater County Court immediately before this paragraph comes into force.

Lowestoft County Court shall have jurisdiction in respect of Admiralty proceedings which were commenced in or transferred to Great Yarmouth County Court before 26th April 1999, and are in existence in Great Yarmouth County Court immediately before this paragraph comes into force.
