Coming into force
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 49(4), 49(5) and 143(4) of the Railways Act 19931 hereby makes the following Order:—
Citation and Commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Docklands Light Railway (Miscellaneous Closure Exemptions) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 13th December 1999.
Interpretation2
In this Order—
“the Act” means the Railways Act 1993;
“the specified networks” means the networks consisting of—
- i
the stretch of railway line running for a distance of 400 metres (or thereabouts) northwards from a point 100 metres (or thereabouts) south of the southern end of West India Quay Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to the junction situated between that station and Westferry Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, and
- ii
the stretch of railway line running for a distance of 245 metres (or thereabouts) northwards from a point 100 metres (or thereabouts) south of the southern end of West India Quay Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to the junction situated between that station and Poplar Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Disapplication of closure provisions3

The specified networks are designated as networks in relation to which section 39 of the Act (closure of operational passenger networks) is not to have effect.

Pudding Mill Lane Station in the London Borough of Newham is designated as a station in relation to which section 41 of the Act (closure of railway facilities used in connection with passenger services) is not to have effect.
