The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (1) of section 144 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 19801 as extended by section 44(3) of the Justices of the Peace Act 19972, after consultation with the Rule Committee appointed under the said section 144, makes the following Rules:
