Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, on the application of the East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service Trust and the Royal Hull Hospitals National Health Service Trust3, and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act4, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the East Yorkshire Hospitals and the Royal Hull Hospitals National Health Service Trusts (Dissolution) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 1st October 1999.

Dissolution of NHS trusts2

The East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service Trust established by the East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service Trust Establishment Order5 and the Royal Hull Hospitals National Health Service Trust established by the Royal Hull Hospitals National Health Service Trust Establishment Order6 are hereby dissolved, and accordingly those Orders are hereby revoked.

This Order provides for the dissolution on 1st October 1999 of the East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service Trust and the Royal Hull Hospitals National Health Service Trust.

This Order should be read in conjunction with the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19997.
