The University College London Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999

Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after completion of the consultation prescribed under section 5(2) of the latter Act3, considering it appropriate that the functions of the trust should include functions in relation to the provision of services for one or more Health Authorities4, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the University College London Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1999 and shall come into force on 2nd September 1999.
Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order2
For article 3 of the University College London Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19965 (functions of the trust) there shall be substituted the following article–
Nature and functions of the trust3

The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1)(b) of the Act.

The trust’s functions shall be to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services (including the management of its teaching and research facilities) and to provide and manage other establishments and facilities at:
i
St. Martin’s House, 140 Tottenham Court Road, London W1P 9LN,
ii
The Middlesex Hospital, Mortimer Street, London W1N 8AA,
iii
The Eastman Dental Hospital, 256 Gray’s Inn Road, London WC1X 8LD,
iv
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London WC1N 3BG,
v
The Obstetric Hospital, Huntley Street, London WC1E 6AU,
vi
Cecil Fleming House, Grafton Way, London WC1E 6DB,
vii
The United Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital and Hospital for Women (Soho), 144 Euston Road, London NW1 2AP,
viii
the site known as “the Odeon Site”, Grafton Way, London WC1E 6DB, and
ix
a site bordering Euston Road, Gower Street, Tottenham Court Road and Grafton Way, London WC1,
and at any other associated hospitals, establishments or facilities.
