In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 29(3), (4) and (8A) of the Representation of the People Act 19831 as applied by article 18 of the Scottish Parliament (Elections etc.) Order 19992 the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order with the consent of the Treasury:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Scottish Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officers' Charges) (Amendment) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 18 June 1999.

Amendment of the Scottish Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officers' Charges) Order 19992

The Scottish Parliamentary Elections (Returning Officers' Charges) Order 1999 is amended as follows.

In the definition of “by-election” in article 1(2) for “8” there is substituted “9”.

In article 3(1)(b) for “7” where it appears in the second place there is substituted “8”.
