Coming into force

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 408 and 569(4) and (5) of the Education Act 19961, there being no persons with whom consultation appears to him to be desirable, the Secretary of State for Wales hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 1999, and shall come into force on 1st September 1999.

Amendment of Regulations2

In regulation 2(1) of the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) (Wales) Regulations 19972 for the definition of “ maintained school” substitute the following–

  • “maintained school” means a community, foundation or voluntary school or a community or foundation special school (other than one established in a hospital);

These Regulations, which come into force on 1st September 1999 amend the Education (Individual Pupils' Achievements) (Information) (Wales) Regulations 1997 by substituting a new definition of “maintained school” in those Regulations reflecting the new categories of maintained schools provided for by the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, the relevant provisions of which will come into force on 1st September 1999.
