1. Travelling and overnight subsistence expenses of–
(a)the returning officer;
(b)any person to whom the Chief Electoral Officer has, under section 14A(2) of the Electoral Law (Northern Ireland) Act 1962(1), as applied by virtue of section 26(2) of the Representation of the People Act 1983(2) and regulation 5(1) of and Schedule 1 to the 1986 Regulations, delegated any of his functions as returning officer;
(c)the verifying officer;
(d)any person appointed under section 14A(2) of that Act of 1962 as so applied;
(e)any presiding officer or poll clerk;
(f)any clerical or other assistants employed by the returning officer.
1962 c. 14 (N.I.); section 14A was inserted by article 6 of the Electoral Law (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (S.I. 1972/1264 (N.I. 13)).
Section 26(2) was inserted by Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 1985 (c. 50).
