The Swansea (1999) National Health Service Trust (Change of Name) Order 1999
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.
(1)
This Order may be cited as the Swansea (1999) National Health Service Trust (Change of Name) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 17th May 1999.
(2)
In this Order–
“the trust” means the National Health Service trust established by the Order.
Change of name of NHS Trust2.
The trust shall be called the Swansea National Health Service Trust or Ymddiriedolaeth Gwasanaeth Iechyd Gwladol Abertawe instead of the Swansea (1999) National Health Service Trust or Ymddiriedolaeth Gwasanaeth Iechyd Gwladol Abertawe (1999), and accordingly in Article 1 of the Order in the definition of “the trust”, and in Article 2 of the Order, the expression “(1999)” shall be omitted.
Transitional provisions3.
The change of name under this Order shall not–
(a)
affect any right or obligation of any person; or
(b)
be taken as invalidating any instrument (whether made before, on or after the day on which this Order comes into force) which refers to the trust by its previous name; and all instruments and other documents which refer to the trust under its previous name shall be construed as referring to it under its new name.

This Order changes the name of an NHS Trust established by Order under section 5 of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 from the Swansea (1999) National Health Service Trust to the Swansea National Health Service Trust. It also changes the trust’s Welsh name, makes consequential amendments to the trust’s establishment Order and makes transitional provisions.
