This Order brings into force on 1st June 1999 those provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 which are not already in force, extending the jurisdiction of courts in England and Wales in relation to certain offences of dishonesty and blackmail. By virtue of section 78(5) of the Act, nothing in any of those provisions applies to any act, omission or other event occurring before that date.

Sections 1 to 4, section 5(2) and section 6 of the Criminal Justice Act 19932 shall come into force on 1st June 1999.
