The Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 1998

Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 14(2) and 51 of the Gaming Act 19681, and after consultation with the Gaming Board for Great Britain, hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 11th May 1998.

Regulation 5(1) of the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) Regulations 19842 shall be amended by substituting for the figure “£8.00”, in both places where it occurs, the figure “£8.50”.

Regulation 5(1) of the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Regulations 19843 shall be amended by substituting for the figure “£8.00”, in both places where it occurs, the figure “£8.50”.

The Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 19964 and the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 19965 are hereby revoked.

These Regulations increase the maximum charges which may be made for admission to gaming on bingo club premises from £8 to £8.50.
