The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 43(8), 54(1) and 56 of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 19651 and sections 19(2), 25 and 26 of the Marriage (Scotland) Act 19772 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and with the approval of the Secretary of State, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st April 1999.

In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces (Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 19983.
Amendment of the principal Regulations

In the first entry in column 2 of Part III of Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations (recording of name, or change of name or surname or alternative name) for the amount specified in column 4 of that Part there shall be substituted “36.00”.

In the second entry in column 2 of Schedule 3 to the principal Regulations (civil marriage ceremony) for the amount specified in column 4 there shall be substituted “45.00”.
