The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:–

1.  The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan, shall cease to be a trunk road and become an unclassified road as from the date on which this Order comes into force.

2.  In this Order:–

(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;

(2) (i) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/2/WO 125 marked The Swansea–Manchester Trunk Road (A483) (Llandovery County Primary School Layby Detrunking) Order 1998 signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;

(ii)“the trunk road” means the Swansea–Manchester Trunk Road (A483).

3.  This Order shall come into force on 16th December 1998 and may be cited as The Swansea–Manchester Trunk Road (A483) (Llandovery County Primary School Layby Detrunking) Order 1998.

SCHEDULE

Length of Trunk Road Ceasing to be a Trunk Road.

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length being the layby adjacent to Llandovery County Primary School commencing at its junction with Stone Street (B4344) and extending in a northeasterly direction for about 0.072 kilometres.
