Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 7(2) of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 19791, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:–

This Order may be cited as the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1998.

Section 3(1) of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 shall come into force on 22nd October 1998.

This Order brings into force on 22nd October 1998 section 3(1) of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 1979 (power to make an Order in Council to make exceptions, adaptations and modifications to the Carriage by Air Act 19612, the Carriage by Air (Supplementary Provisions) Act 19623 and section 5(1) of the Carriage by Air and Road Act 19794 in consequence of the United Kingdom agreeing to an amendment to the Warsaw Convention as amended at The Hague, 1955). This Order is necessary to allow implementation in the UK of Montreal Additional Protocol No. 4, 1975.
