The Bromley Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment (No. 2) Order 1998
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Bromley Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment (No. 2) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 19th October 1998.
Amendment of Establishment Order2.
“Nature and functions of the trust3.
(1)
The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1)(b) of the Act.
(2)
The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be–
(a)
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act any or all of the following–
(i)
Beckenham Hospital, Croydon Road, Beckenham, Kent BR3 3QL;
(ii)
Bromley Hospital, Cromwell Avenue, Bromley, Kent BR2 9AJ;
(iii)
Farnborough Hospital, Farnborough Common, Orpington, Kent BR6 8ND;
(iv)
Orpington Hospital, Sevenoaks Road, Orpington, Kent BR6 9JU; and
(v)
an acute general hospital at Farnborough Common, Orpington, Kent; and
(b)
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act any other hospitals, establishments or facilities in the area of Bromley Health Authority associated with the reprovision in whole or in part of any of the hospitals, establishments and facilities listed in paragraphs (a)(i) to (v) above; and
(c)
to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services at any or all of the hospitals, establishments or facilities referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) above.”

This Order amends the Order (“the Establishment Order”) which established the Bromley Hospitals National Health Service Trust.
The Establishment Order is amended to confer on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 to provide and manage certain premises in the area of Bromley Health Authority.
