Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after completion of the consultation prescribed under section 5(2) of the latter Act3, considering it appropriate that the functions of the trust should include functions in relation to the provision of services for one or more Health Authorities4, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Leeds Community and Mental Health Services Teaching National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment (No. 2) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 19th October 1998.
Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order2
In article 3(2) of the Leeds Community and Mental Health National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19925 (functions of the trust) there shall be added the following sub-paragraph–
e
to provide and manage under section 5(1)(b) of the Act hospitals and other establishments and facilities in the area of Leeds Health Authority associated with the reprovision of hospital accommodation and services from High Royd’s Hospital, Menston, Ilkley, LS29 6AQ and Roundhay Wing, St. James’s University Hospital, Beckett Street, Leeds LS9 7TF (including the management of teaching and research facilities) and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services and community health services.
