Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998 and shall come into force on 28th September 1998.
Amendment of Establishment Order2.
“Nature and functions of the trust3.
(1)
The trust is established for the purposes specified in section 5(1) of the Act.
(2)
The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be:—
(a)
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act:
(i)
Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Stockport SK2 7JE,
(ii)
St. Thomas' Hospital, Shaw Heath, Stockport, Cheshire SK3 8BL,
(iii)
Tree Tops Hospital, Dale Road, Marple, Stockport, Cheshire SK8 6NG,
(iv)
Cherry Tree Hospital, Cherry Tree Lane, Stockport, Cheshire SK2 7PZ,
(v)
Ollersett Hospital, Low Leighton Road, New Mills, Derbyshire SK12 4LS,
and other hospitals, establishments and facilities in the area of Stockport Health Authority, and there to provide and manage hospital accommodation and services; and
(b)
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act, The Meadows, Offerton House Site, Marple Road, Stockport, Cheshire SK2 5EA, and other hospitals, establishments and facilities in the area of Stockport Health Authority, and from there to provide and manage community health services.”.

This Order amends the Order (“the Establishment Order”) which established the Stockport Healthcare National Health Service Trust.
The Establishment Order is amended to confer on the trust the purpose specified in section 5(1)(b) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 to provide and manage hospitals, establishments and facilities in the area of Stockport Health Authority.
