The Public Telecommunication System Designation (The Phone Company) Order 1998

Coming into force
Whereas the Secretary of State has granted to The Phone Company on 4 September 1997 a licence (“the Licence”) under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 19841 (“the Act”), to which section 8 of the Act applies, for the running of the telecommunication systems specified in the Licence (“the Applicable Systems”):
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 9 of the Act, hereby makes the following Order:—

This Order may be cited as the Public Telecommunication System Designation (The Phone Company) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 27th February 1998.

Each of the Applicable Systems is hereby designated as a public telecommunication system.
