Whereas the Secretary of State for Education and Employment has received a proposal from the Further Education Funding Council for England, made in accordance with section 51 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992(1) (“the Act”), for the dissolution under section 27 of the Act of the further education corporations known as North Bolton Sixth Form College and South College, Bolton(2) (“the Old Corporations”);

Now therefore in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 27 of the Act the Secretary of State after consulting the Old Corporations and with the consent of the further education corporation known as Bolton Sixth Form College(3) (“the New Corporation”) hereby makes the following Order:

Established by the Education (Further Education Corporations) Order 1992 (S.I. 1992/2097). The name of South Bolton Sixth Form College was changed to South College, Bolton on 1st September 1995, pursuant to clause 19 of Schedule 1 to the Education (Government of Further Education Corporations) (Former Further Education Colleges) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/1963).
