The Enfield Community Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998

Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having completed the consultation prescribed under section 5(2) of that latter Act3 and considering it appropriate that the functions of the trust should include functions in relation to the provision of services for one or more Health Authorities4, hereby makes the following Order:—
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Enfield Community Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st June 1998.
Amendment of Establishment Order2
For Article 3 of the Enfield Community Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19925 there shall be substituted the following Article:—
Nature and functions of the trust3
The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be—
a
to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act Community Premises, Chase Farm Hospital, The Ridgway, Enfield, Middlesex EN2 8JL and associated hospitals, and there to provide hospital accommodation and community health services; and
b
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act, the Oaks and Elms, Highlands Village, Pennington Drive, Winchmore Hill, London N21 1PN, and from there to provide community services.
