Present,

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament in accordance with section 1(4) of the Hovercraft Act 19681:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1(1)(h) and (3)(g) of the Hovercraft Act 19682, and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

This Order may be cited as the Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on the tenth day after the day on which it is made.

The Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) Order 19723 shall be amended by deleting from Part A of Schedule 2 thereto the following:

a

the reference to the Civil Aviation Act 19684 section 16 in column 1 and the corresponding reference in column 2 and modification in column 3; and

b

the reference to the Civil Aviation Act 19715 section 27 in column 1 and the corresponding reference in column 2 and modification in column 3.

This Order amends the Hovercraft (Application of Enactments) Order 1972 by removing from Part A of Schedule 2 to that Order (enactments relating to aircraft applied to hovercraft) references to the Civil Aviation Act 1968, section 16 and the Civil Aviation Act 1971, section 27. These two sections were repealed by the Civil Aviation Act 1982 and re-enacted as sections 86 and 85 respectively of that Act.
