other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:</p></formula></preamble><body><article eId="article-1"><heading>Citation and commencement</heading><num>1.</num><content><p>This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Exemptions) (Northumberland County Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 12th June 1998.</p></content></article><article eId="article-2"><heading>Exemption of other cleaning by Northumberland County Council</heading><num>2.</num><content><p>Other cleaning<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00002" marker="2"><p>See section 2(2)(c) of, and paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to, the Local Government Act 1988.</p></authorialNote> by the council of the county of Northumberland shall not be treated as a defined activity so long as it is carried out in their area during the period beginning with 1st August 1998 and ending on 31st March 1999.</p></content></article><article eId="article-3"><heading>Exemption of sports and leisure facilities management by Suffolk Coastal District Council</heading><num>3.</num><content><p>The management of sports and leisure facilities<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00003" marker="3"><p>See section 2(2)(ee) of, and paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to, the Local Government Act 1988. Article 3 exempts the sports and leisure facilities management work of Suffolk Coastal District Council so long as that work is carried out at The Brackenbury Sports Centre, High Road East, Felixstowe, Suffolk during the period beginning with 1st January 1999 and ending on 31st December 2000.</p></blockContainer></blockContainer></conclusions></act></akomaNtoso>
