The Coventry Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998

Coming into force
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having completed the consultation prescribed under section 5(2) of that latter Act3 and considering it appropriate that the functions of the trust should include functions in relation to the provision of services for one or more Health Authorities4, hereby makes the following Order:—
Citation and commencement1
This Order may be cited as the Coventry Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1998 and shall come into force on 18th May 1998.
Amendment of Establishment Order2
For Article 3 of the Coventry Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19945 there shall be substituted the following Article:—
Nature and functions of the trust3
The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more Health Authorities) shall be—
a
to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act Parkside House, Quinton Road, Coventry CV1 2NJ, and associated hospitals, establishments or facilities, and there to provide hospital accommodation and services;
b
to own and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(a) of the Act Gulson Hospital, Gulson Road, Coventry CV1 2HR, and associated premises and there to provide community health services; and
c
to provide and manage pursuant to section 5(1)(b) of the Act:
i
Coventry Mental Health Unit, Clifford Bridge Road, Walsgrave, Coventry CV2 2TE, and
ii
121 Hollyfast Road, Coundon, Coventry CV6 2AE,
and there to provide hospital accommodation and services
