The Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3) (England) (Amendment) Order 1997
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3) (England) (Amendment) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st October 1997.

In this Order—
“the effective date” means the date on which this Order comes into force;
Amendment of principal Orders2.
““the Authority” means the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority established under section 21 of the Education Act 1997;”.
Transitional Provision3.
Anything done, or in the process of being done, by or in relation to SCAA before the effective date for the purposes of or in connection with any of the functions bestowed on the Authority by the principal Orders, shall, from that date, be treated as having been done by or in relation to QCA or, as the case may be, be continued by or in relation to QCA.

This Order substitutes, with effect from 1st October 1997, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority established on that date under section 21 of the Education Act 1997 for the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority as “the Authority” for the purposes of the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 1) (England) Order 1995, the Education (National Curriculum) (Assessment Arrangements for the Core Subjects) (Key Stage 2) (England) Order 1995 and the Education (National Curriculum) (Key Stage 3 Assessment Arrangements) (England) Order 1996.
