The Development Board for Rural Wales (Area) Order 1996
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as The Development Board for Rural Wales (Area) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 31st March 1996.
Interpretation and application2.
In the Order—
“the 1976 Act” means the Development of Rural Wales Act 1976; and
“existing area” means the area in Wales for which the Development Board for Rural Wales is responsible under section 1(2) of the 1976 Act immediately before the coming into force of this Order.
Changes in area3.
The areas of the communities of Llanrhaedr-ym-Mochnant, Llansilin and Llangedwyn which areas are shown hatched black on the map in the Schedule hereto are hereby designated as areas in Wales for which the Development Board for Rural Wales is responsible under the 1976 Act in addition to its existing area.
SCHEDULE
This Order includes in the area for which the Development Board for Rural Wales is responsible under the Development of Rural Wales Act 1976 the areas of the three communities of Llanrhaedr-ym-Mochnant, Llansilin and Llangedwyn. This extension is to take account of changes made to the boundary of the area of the County of Powys under the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994.
Section 1(2) of the Development of Rural Wales Act 1976 is amended by paragraph 53(1) of Schedule 16 to the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 which comes into force on 1st April 1996 by substituting for the existing words “the county of Powys and the districts of Ceredigion and Merionnydd” the words “the area for which it was so responsible before 1st April 1996”.
