The Chemical Weapons (Notification) (Amendment) Regulations 1996

Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 23(1) of the Chemical Weapons Act 19961, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Chemical Weapons (Notification) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 31st October 1996.

Amendment2

In regulation 1 of the Chemical Weapons (Notification) Regulations 19962 after “1996” there shall be inserted “and shall come into force on 1st November 1996”.

The Chemical Weapons (Notification) Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996/2503) (“the Principal Regulations”) described certain persons who have to identify themselves to the Secretary of State as being persons on whom it is likely the Secretary of State will want to serve a notice under section 22 of the Chemical Weapons Act 1996 (c. 6).

These amendment Regulations provide that the Principal Regulations come into force on 1st November 1996.
