Coming into force
The Forestry Commissioners, being designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to measures relating to the common agricultural policy of the European Community in respect of forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 2(2) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Title, commencement, extent and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Plant Health (Fees) (Forestry) (Great Britain) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st October 1996.

These Regulations extend to Great Britain.

In these Regulations—
“authority” means an authority to issue plant passports under article 17 of the Plant Health (Forestry) (Great Britain) Order 19933;
“licence” means a licence under article 28 or 28A of the Plant Health (Forestry) (Great Britain) Order 1993.
Fees2
There shall be paid to the Forestry Commissioners—
a
in respect of each service of the type described in column 1 of Schedule 1 to these Regulations the fee prescribed in column 2 of that Schedule in relation to that service;
b
in respect of each service of a type described in column 2 of Schedule 2 to these Regulations the fee prescribed in column 3 of that Schedule in relation to that service.
