The Local Government Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1996

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 30(3) of the Local Government Act 19921, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 1992 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1996.

Provisions of the Local Government Act 1992 coming into force on 8th August 19962

The repeals in the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 19802 in Part I of Schedule 4 to the Local Government Act 1992 shall come into force on 8th August 1996.

This Order brings into force on 8th August 1996 the repeals in the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980 in Part I of Schedule 4 to the Local Government Act 1992 (ie, the repeals of sections 13(6), 16(2) and (3) and the words “(1) to (3)” in section 19A(1)(f) of the 1980 Act).
