Coming into force

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 34 and 43 of the Legal Aid Act 1988,1 having had regard to the matters specified in section 34(9) and having consulted the General Council of the Bar and the Law Society, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations: —

These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid in Family Proceedings (Remuneration) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 8th July 1996.

The Legal Aid in Family Proceedings (Remuneration) Regulations l9912 shall be amended, in respect of work done on or after 8th July 1996, by substituting

a

“£2.10” and “£1.85” for “£2.05” and “£1.80” respectively in ITEM 2 (Receiving routine letters), Columns 2 (High Court) and 3 (County Court or Magistrates' Court) of Part I (PREPARATION) of Schedule 1 (CARE PROCEEDINGS);

b

“£4.25” for “£4.20” in ITEM 3 (Routine telephone calls), Column 2 (High Court) of Part I (PREPARATION) of Schedule 1A (CARE PROCEEDINGS);

c

“£2.10” and “£1.85” for “£2.05” and “£1.80” respectively in ITEM 2 (Receiving routine letters), Columns 2 (High Court) and 3 (County Court) of Part I (PREPARATION) of Schedule 2(a) (PRESCRIBED FAMILY PROCEEDINGS);

d

“£32.00 – £51.00” for “£32.00 – £51.75” in ITEM 18 (Preparing the bill etc), Column 3 (County Court) of Part V (TAXATION AND REVIEW OF TAXATION) of Schedule 2(a);

e

“£4.25” for “£4.20” in ITEM 3 (Routine telephone calls), Column 2 (High Court) of Part I (PREPARATION) of Schedule 2A(a) (PRESCRIBED FAMILY PROCEEDINGS); and

f

“£32.50 – £51.75” for “£32.50 – £51.00” in ITEM 18 (Preparing the bill etc), Column 3 (County Court) of Part V (TAXATION AND REVIEW OF TAXATION) of Schedule 2A(a) (PRESCRIBED FAMILY PROCEEDINGS).
