The Local Statutory Provisions (Exemption of St. Andrews Links Trust) (Scotland) Order 1996

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 59(6)(a) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Statutory Provisions (Exemption of St. Andrews Links Trust) (Scotland) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st July 1996.
Provision continuing to have effect
2. The St Andrews Links Order Confirmation Act 1974(2) is hereby exempted under section 59(6)(a) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 and accordingly the said Act of 1974 shall not cease to have effect on 31st December 1999.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order exempts the St. Andrews Links Order Confirmation Act 1974 from ceasing to have effect at the end of 1999 in terms of section 59(6) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994. The 1974 Act constituted the St. Andrews Links Trust and vested in that Trust the control and management of the Links of St. Andrews.
