These Regulations (which extend to England and Wales) consolidate with amendments the Police Regulations 1987 as amended by the regulations specified in Part I of Schedule 12 to these Regulations (“the 1987 Regulations”). The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 of the Police Act 19641, and after satisfying the requirements of section 46 of that Act and section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 19802as to the furnishing of drafts of the Regulations to the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kindgom and to the Police Advisory Board for England and Wales, hereby makes the following Regulations:
