Article 3(2)

SCHEDULENORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK

1.  The arrangements made by the County Council by virtue of paragraph 5 of Part I of Schedule 17 to the 1972 Act(1) as respects the North York Moors National Park shall have effect, on and after the reorganisation date, as if they had been made by the council of the borough of Redcar and Cleveland; and the National Park Committee established for that Park (“the Committee”) shall accordingly not cease to exist in consequence of the dissolution of the County Council.

2.  In relation to the Committee—

(a)paragraph 12A of that Part shall not apply to the council of the borough of Redcar and Cleveland; and

(b)paragraph 21A of that Part shall have effect as if the reference in the definition of “planning area” to a non-metropolitan county included a reference to that borough.

3.  Any person appointed by the council of the borough of Langbaurgh-on-Tees as a district council member of the Committee in accordance with paragraph 12A of that Part and holding office immediately before the reorganisation date shall, on that date, cease to be such a member but shall be eligible for appointment as a member of the Committee by the council of the borough of Redcar and Cleveland.
