Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Secretary of State granted to Telecom Securicor Cellular Radio Limited on 22 March 1994 a licence under section 7 of the Telecommunications Act 1984 to run the telecommunication systems specified in the licence. A copy of the licence was laid before Parliament on 30th March 1994. This Order designates those telecommunication systems as public telecommunication systems. Consequently, by virtue of section 9(3) of that Act, Telecom Securicor Cellular Radio Limited will be a public telecommunications operator when this Order comes into force on 28th April 1994.
