Modification of Chapter IX of Part II of the 1993 Act3

For the purposes referred to in section 187(1) of the 1993 Act Chapter IX of Part II of that Act is modified as follows:

a

references to grant-maintained schools shall be read so as to includegrant-maintained special schools and references to grant-maintained status shall be construed accordingly;

b

in section 126 the references to section 84(1) and to section 90(1) shall, in relation to a grant-maintained special school, be to those sections as modified by any regulations made under paragraph 14 of Schedule 11 to the 1993 Act2;

c

the requirements in section 127(2)(a) and (b) shall not apply in relation to a maintained special school established in a hospital.
