The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 3(2), 80(7), 86A, 87, 89, 90, 114(1) and 122(1) and (5) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992F1 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, which contains only regulations which are either made under section 86A of that Act or consequential on the other amendments made to the Act of 1992 by the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) Act 1994F2, and which, being in either case made within 6 months of the coming into force of the latter Act, are not required to be referred to the Social Security Advisory CommitteeF3, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Seesection 173(5)(b) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 (c.5). The definition of “relevant enactments” in section 170 of that Act is extended to include the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) Act 1994 (c.18) by section 11(1) of, and paragraph 51 of Schedule 1 to, the latter Act.
1992 c.4. Section 86A was inserted by the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) Act 1994 (c.18), section 2(5). Section 122(1) is cited for the meaning assigned to the word “prescribe”.
