Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order transfers areas between Greater London and the counties of Kent and Surrey, affecting the boundaries of the London borough of Bromley, of the Kent district of Sevenoaks, and of the Surrey district of Tandridge. Consequential changes are made to the boundaries of parishes, unparished areas, local government electoral areas, petty sessional divisions and coroners' districts, and also to those of the Metropolitan Police District.

The map and table forming part of this note (Pages 5 and 6) give a general guide to the changes made, and the table contains approximate figures for the total areas of land and for the population affected by each article of the Order.

Prints of the detailed maps (described in article 2) may be inspected at all reasonable times at the offices of the council for each borough or district affected, and additionally at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment located in 2, Marsham Street, London SW1P 3EB.

The Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976 contain general provisions regarding the effect of orders such as this one.

Transfer to Kent of area west of Daltons Road, in the vicinity of Jubilee Road, Skeet Hill Farm and The Gables.

Transfer to Kent of area including parts of Stones Cross Road and Cray Road, Tile Kilns Wood, Hook Spring and Marwood House.

Minor realignments in the vicinity of Stonehouse Road, Sevenoaks Road and Turnpike Drive.

Greater London (Bromley) and Surrey (Tandridge) Article 4 Total area: 10 hectares Population: 10

Realignment of boundary in the vicinity of the Roman road at Mollards Wood and Cherry Tree Shaw.

Transfer to Surrey of area including Waylands, Waylands Farm, Furze Corner and Glengarry.

Realignments in the vicinity of Ricketts Hill Road and the Grove.
