On making an application for registration of a ship the applicant shall propose a name by which the ship is to be called.

Schedule 1 (which provides for the approval of names) shall have effect.

A ship shall not be described by any name other than its registered name.

A change shall not be made in a registered ship’s name without the prior written permission of the Registrar.
