The Road Works (Reinstatement) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1992

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 129(4), 130 and 163(1) and (3) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Road Works (Reinstatement) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.

2.  Regulation 2(1) of the Road Works (Reinstatement) (Scotland) Regulations 1992(2) shall be amended as follows:—

(a)The words “per annum” occurring at the end of the definition of “a road carrying more than 30 million standard axles” shall be deleted; and

(b)After the definition of “a road carrying more than 30 million standard axles” there shall be inserted—

“standard axle” means an axle which exerts a force of 80 Kilo Newtons..

These Regulations amend the Road Works (Reinstatement) (Scotland) Regulations 1992 so as to rectify a defect in the definition of “a road carrying more than 30 million standard axles” and also so as to add a definition of “standard axles”.
