These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations 1990 by substituting a new Schedule 3 for the existing one. The principal changes introduced by the new Schedule 3 are as follows:the fee for a full large goods vehicle (lgv) driver’s licence, except one granted in exchange for a provisional licence or following a period of disqualification, is increased from £10 to £21;the fee for a full passenger-carrying vehicle (pcv) driver’s licence, except one granted in exchange for a provisional licence or following a period of disqualification, is reduced from £22.50 to £21;the fee for a provisional lgv or pcv driver’s licence is increased from £5 to £21, except where the licence is granted to a person after he has been ordered to take a driving test under section 117 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 “the 1988 Act”, in which case the fee is increased from £5 to £12;the fee for a full lgv or pcv driver’s licence granted following the expiration of a period of disqualification for holding or obtaining such a licence is increased from £5 to £12, except where the licence is granted to a person after he has passed a driving test which he was ordered to take under section 117 of the 1988 Act, in which case the fee is increased from £5 to £6; andthe fee for a full lgv trainee driver’s licence for category C and for an lgv trainee driver’s provisional licence for category C plus E granted to the holder of a heavy goods vehicle (hgv) trainee driver’s full licence to drive hgvs of class 2 or 3 is increased from £5 to £6.
