The Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) (Amendment) Regulations 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 5(2) of the Merchant Shipping (Mercantile Marine Fund) Act 18981 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 17th April 1990.

The Merchant Shipping (Light Dues) Regulations 19902 are hereby amended by substituting in the Schedule the following for paragraph 1(2) of Part I (Scale of Payments):

A ship of under 25,000 tons liable to make payments on account of light dues under this paragraph shall not be required to pay dues in respect of more than two voyages in any one month. A ship of 25,000 tons or over liable to make payments on account of light dues under this paragraph shall not be required to pay dues in respect of more than one voyage in any one month.
b
In the year commencing 1st April 1990 a ship referred to in sub-paragraph (a) above shall also not be required to pay dues on more than 6 voyages in total, and in any subsequent year the said yearly limit shall be 7 voyages.
