The Housing Corporation Advances (Increase of Limit) Order 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 93(2A)(a) of the Housing Associations Act 1985 1, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order, a draft of which has been laid before, and has been approved by resolution of, the House of Commons:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Housing Corporation Advances (Increase of Limit) Order 1990 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Increase of limit on advances2

For the purposes of subsection (2A)(a) of section 93 of the Housing Associations Act 1985, £2,300 million is hereby specified in relation to the Housing Corporation as the limit referred to in subsection (2) of that section.

The Housing Corporation’s powers of borrowing are subject to a limit under section 93 of the Housing Associations Act 1985. This Order increases that limit from £2,000 million to £2,300 million.
