These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1990.

“TABLEFEES RELATING TO THE RE-EXAMINATION OF VEHICLES IN CLASS VI

Vehicles in Class VI constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers
£17.75, if the vehicle is submitted for a further examination within 14 days of the date of the issue of the notice of refusal of a test certificate, or
(a)
£31, in the circumstances described in paragraph (a) of the entry in column 2, or
(b)
£38.00, in any other case.
(b)
£62.50 in any other case.
Other vehicles in Class VI
(a)
£13.25, if the vehicle is submitted for a further examination within 14 days of the date of the issue of the notice of refusal of a test certificate, or
(a)
£22.25, in the circumstances described in paragraph (a) of the entry in column 2, or
(b)
£26.50, in any other case.
(b)
£44.50, in any other case.”.

In the regulations specified in column 1 of the Table below for the amounts specified in column 2 of the Table there shall be specified the amounts specified in column 3 of the Table.

These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 (“the 1981 Regulations”) in relation to Class VI vehicles (public service vehicles other than those of a type specified in regulation 5(3) as follows.
The fee payable for an examination under regulation 12 of the 1981 Regulations of a vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers is increased from £36.25 to £38.00. The Regulations do not affect the supplements to the fees payable for such examinations on Saturdays.
The fee payable for the re-examination of a vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers, within 14 days of the date of the issue of the notice of refusal of a test certificate, is increased from £17.75 to £18.75 and the fee for such a re-examination on a Saturday is increased from £30.00 to £31.00.
The fee for the re-examination of any other vehicle, within 14 days of the date of the issue of the notice of refusal, is increased from £12.50 to £13.25 and the fee for such a re-examination on a Saturday is increased from £21.50 to £22.25.
The fee payable for the re-examination of a vehicle constructed or adapted to carry more than 12 passengers, later than 14 days from the issue of the notice of refusal, is increased from £36.25 to £38.00 and the fee for such an examination on a Saturday is increased from £60.75 to £62.50.
The fee payable for the re-examination of any other vehicle, later than 14 days from the issue of the notice of refusal, is increased from £25.25 to £26.50 and the fee for such an examination on a Saturday is increased from £43.25 to £44.50.
The fee payable for the issue of a duplicate test certificate is increased from £7.75 to £8.25.
