Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17(2) and 107(1)(b) of the Water (Scotland) Act 19801 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, on the application of the Borders Regional Council, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Borders Regional Council (Galashiels Mill Lade) (Amendment) Water Order 1990 and shall come into force on 26th February 1990.

This Order and the South-East of Scotland Water Board (Galashiels Mill Lade) Water Order 19692 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”) and the Borders Regional Council (Galashiels Mill Lade) Amendment Water Order 19773 and the Borders Regional Council (Galashiels Mill Lade) (Amendment) Water Order 19844 may be cited together as the Borders Regional Council (Galashiels Mill Lade) Water Orders 1969 to 1990.

Amendment of the principal Order2

For article 6 of the principal Order there shall be substituted the following article:–

The power to take water conferred by this Order shall not be exercisable after 15 July 1994

Miscellaneous3

The Borders Regional Council shall at all times after the expiration of six months from the date on which this Order comes into force keep at the office of the Chief Executive of the Council a copy thereof.
