The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 84(1) and (2) of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the A41 Trunk Road (Hendon Way, Barnet) (Speed Limit) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st December 1990.
2. Article 4 of the Trunk Roads (Speed Limits) (No. 1) Order 1972(2) is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to that length of Hendon Way described in paragraph 2(i) of Schedule 2 to that Order.
3. In this Order, “Hendon Way” means that length of the London-Carlisle-Glasgow-Inverness Trunk Road (A41) in the London Borough of Barnet known as Hendon Way.
4. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Order.

That length of both carriageways of Hendon Way between points 16.5 metres northwest of its junction with the road known as Park Road and 42 metres west of its junction with the road known as Finchley Road, a distance of approximately 1·9 miles.
