The Master of the Rolls, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 133(1) of the Supreme Court Act 19811, hereby makes the following Regulations:–

These Regulations may be cited as the Enrolment of Deeds (Change of Name) (Amendment) Regulations 1990, and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.

In regulation 8(5)(b) of the Enrolment of Deeds (Change of Name) Regulations 19832, after the words “the Master of the Rolls” shall be inserted the words “, or another judge of the Supreme Court,”.

These Regulations amend the Enrolment of Deeds (Change of Name) Regulations 1983. They provide that the power to require additional evidence to support an application for enrolment of a deed poll evidencing the change of name of a minor may be exercised by any judge of the Court of Appeal or of the High Court as well as by the Master of the Rolls.
