The Army Terms of Service (Amendment) Regulations 1990

The Defence Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 2 of the Armed Forces Act 19661, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Army Terms of Service (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.

Amendment to Regulations2

Regulation 5 of the Army Terms of Service Regulations 19862 (transfer to the reserve after notice period) shall be amended as follows.

In paragraph (5)(c) for the words “on the relevant date” there shall be substituted “on the date he attains the age of 18 years or 3 months after the date of his attestation, whichever is the later”.

Paragraph (2) above does not apply where a person enlisted before 1st January 1991.
