Coming into force
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 6(3) and 15(6) of the Local Government Act 19881, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement, extent and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Competition) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1990, shall come into force on 18th December 1990 and shall apply to Scotland only.

In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Competition) (Scotland) Regulations 19882.
Amendment of the principal Regulations2
In column 4 (other cleaning) of Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations–
a
the words “Groups 6 & 12” opposite the reference to “1 January 1991” in column 1 (date) shall be deleted;
b
for the words “Groups 5 & 11” opposite the reference to “1 August 1991” in column 1 there shall be substituted the words “Groups 6 & 12”;
c
for the words “Group 10” opposite the reference to “1 January 1992” in column 1 there shall be substituted the words “Groups 5, 10 & 11”.
