The Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1990

Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 23(3)(b) and 56(4) of the Registered Homes Act 19841 and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 3rd December 1990.

Amendment of Schedule 12

Schedule 1 to the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes Regulations 19842 (fees to accompany applications) shall be amended as follows—

a

in paragraph 1 for “£600” there shall be substituted “£678”; and

b

in paragraph 2 for “£380” there shall be substituted “£410”.

Revocations3

The Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 19863 and regulation 2 of the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 19884 are hereby revoked.

These Regulations increase the fees payable under the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes Regulations 1984.

The fee to accompany an application for registration is increased from £600 to £678, and the fee to accompany such an application on a proposed change of ownership, where there are no other changes in relation to the home, is increased from £380 to £410 (regulation 2).

The Regulations also revoke the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1986 and regulation 2 of the Nursing Homes and Mental Nursing Homes (Amendment) Regulations 1988, which replaced the fees prescribed which are in turn replaced by the fees prescribed by these Regulations (regulation 3).
