The Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) (Guernsey) Order 1990

1.
This Order may be cited as the Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) (Guernsey) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st December 1990.
2.
In this Order, the expression “the Bailiwick” means the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the territorial waters adjacent thereto.
3.
SCHEDULEMODIFICATIONS IN THE EXTENSION OF THE FISHING VESSELS (LIFE-SAVING APPLIANCES) REGULATIONS 1988 TO THE BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY
1.
Any reference to a provision made by or under an enactment shall be construed, unless the contrary intention appears, as a reference to that provision as it has effect in the Bailiwick.

In regulation 1(2) —
(a)
for “15th February 1988” there shall be substituted “the date on which the Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) (Guernsey) Order 1990 comes into force”;
(b)
for “On 15th April 1988” there shall be substituted “2 months after that Order comes into force”;
(c)
for “15th April 1988” wherever else occurring there shall be substituted “the relevant date”;
(d)
for “on 15th July 1988” there shall be substituted “5 months after that Order comes into force”;
(e)
for “on 15th October 1988” there shall be substituted “8 months after that Order comes into force”, and
(f)
for “on 15th January” there shall be substituted “11 months after that Order comes into force”.

(1)
In regulation 2(1) —
(a)
““relevant date” means the date which falls 2 months after the Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) (Guernsey) Order 1990 comes into force;”, and
(b)
the definition of “United Kingdom fishing vessel” shall be omitted.

“(4)
These Regulations apply to fishing vessels registered in the Bailiwick.”.

In regulation 3(1) —
(a)
for “until 15th April 1992” there shall be substituted “during the period ending 4 years after the relevant date”,and
(b)
for “15th March 1988” there shall be substituted “the date which falls one month after the Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) (Guernsey) Order 1990 comes into force”.

In regulation 7 —
(a)
(b)
for “subject to the modification that” there shall be substituted “as if”.
This Order extends the Fishing Vessels (Life-Saving Appliances) Regulations 1988 to the Bailiwick of Guernsey with the modifications specified in the Schedule to the Order.
